Dear friends,
It was my first time to participate in a world congress of JCI (Junior Chamber International- www.jci.cc). Maybe is the excitement of something new that is happening in your life that drives me to write these thoughts, maybe is the flu that put me down, but this experience was a life changing one for me and that’s why I share it with you. Even though 2009 was challenging for everyone in each country in every corner of the world, the fact I received as “a gift” from my family this trip to JCI world congress makes me think again that up there in the sky “somebody loves me” and I am really grateful for this.
I met personally over 80 JCI members from Europe and over 90 JCI members from other continents (Asia, Americas, Australia, etc.). It was taught and challenging to meet all in only 7 days but the feeling
was after first 2-3 days that we know each other for many years. Why is this possible? Because we shared the same vision, same values and the same spirit- JCI mission, values and spirit- and they are identical everywhere in the world. I would to write them down (for the ones who read this article and don’t know about I am talking about):
JCI Vision- “To be the leading global network of young active citizens”.
JCI Mission- “To provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change”.
JCI Values- The declaration of principles:
“We believe that faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;
We believe that the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;
We believe that economic justice can be won by free men through free enterprise;
We believe that government should be of laws rather than of men;
We believe that earth’s great treasure lies in human personality;
And we believe that service to humanity is the best work of life.”
As JCI Secretary General, Edson A. Kodama (one of the best man that can teach you what leadership and respect are) said: “congress is a great hallmark of JCI, a wonderful time for us as individuals to come together and be inspired by one another’s collective accomplishments as we think about new ways to create positive change”. And believe me, everything that he says is truth. I’ ve been there and felt this!

Dear friends,
Holidays are coming and I believe that this is the right moment to share my thoughts with you. If it wouldn’t be Christmas, I don’t think I would dare to open my soul to you. My trust is that you will feel this message:)!
One month ago I pass through a life changing experience (for real). I was not aware of this during World Congress in Hammamet, Tunisia, but in the next two weeks that I spent in bed with a bad cold.
I was so furious that I was sick, felt without energy, but I realized that all has a purpose: I had time to think to what happened in Tunisia, at my life in 2009 and suddenly, INSPIRATION, came to me ….probably you noticed I didn’t write on my blog for a long time….
I put my thoughts on the paper and I wrote something….is like a open letter for JCI Romania members.
There are three pages….I will put them in three different posts due to their length. I put all my soul inside, believe me.
“Me, myself and I” started from a joke I made when somebody asked me, how many persons from Romania are at the congress?
Shortly, I have found that is OK to be IDEALIST and with PRINCIPLES in this world, to LOVE people and to SHOW them this as many times as you can.
This is JCI SPIRIT in my vision. Simple, but true.
Even though are persons that harm us, reject us, they are not our friends…..is OK to LOVE them and to ACCEPT them as they are! We can’t change them, we can change just ourselves! As Buddha said!
Honest love, unconditioned has the highest level of energy ever, did you kno
w? I believe that this I felt among the 2 500 people at the Congress….and is a state of energy that I wish you to feel it!
“Be better!” motto has a different meaning for each one of us, because we are all unique.
Each with his/her potential and at his/her time!
I found out that power of JCI lies in its PEOPLE/ MEMBERS, not in positions, egos or power. If we don’t people who put their shoulder and energy (without financial return), JCI would not exist.
The creed and JCI principles will be without content.
Therefore, let me THANK you each person who chose to be a part of JCI Romania team in 2009 (hope you stay longer and we bring more people altogether) and wish all the best in
the world to you and your families. WISH you LOVE and HAPINESS for CHRISTMAS and an exceptional 2010!
Love,
Miha
